WIF Rotorua Roundup - Event Postponed

Due to the uncertainty of the current Covid-19 situation and the extending Alert Level 4 Lockdowns, our Women In Forestry Rotorua event has been postponed. 

We will reschedule and announce a new date once we are able to proceed with certainty. 

Ticket holders will have received an email regarding their options. 

We hope to host this event for you all soon!

Manage ACC – with Sue Walton
Manage Group is all about being prepared to hold ACC, WorksafeNZ and others accountable and driving practical and workable solutions for their clients and stakeholders.

MSD Harvesting Subsidy – with Prue Younger from FICA & Chris Denly from MSD  
Find out about the new subsidy scheme for harvesting contractors employing kiwis, that is being rolled out by FICA and MSD.

Employment Law Update – With Louise Foley from Le Pine & Co.
We'll discuss Health and Safety as it affects employment law. We’ll cover employment during a pandemic, sick leave and domestic violence leave, plus your questions answered.

Speakers

Sue Walton - Manage ACC

Sue Walton is the General Manager at Manage Group Limited, Sue provides clients with information, advice and action on issues relating to ACC products and services and provides an advocacy service where required. 

Prue Younger - FICA

Prue Younger is the CEO of FICA. Prue has been instrumental in lifting the profile of FICA, advocating for contractors and partnering with other forestry entities to work in collaborationfor the good of the forestry industry. In 2020 Prue led a partnership with MSD offering a FICA MSD subsidy to silviculture contractors, and in 2021 this has been extended to harvesting contractors. She will speak with Chris Denly (MSD) on the new subsidy available. 

Chris Denly - MSD

Chris Denly is a Key Account Manager - Corporate at the Ministry of Social Development / Industry Partnerships. She has worked with FICA to create the MSD FICA subsidy available to silviculture and harvesting contractors, and will give attendees an overview of the programme and how they can claim the subsidy to fill workforce shortages.

Louise Foley - Le Pine and Co.

Louise Foley is an Employment Law Expert and qualified solicitor at Le Pine & Co. Taupo. She specialises in employment law and court work in the civil (contract disputes, claims for money) and criminal jurisdictions. Le Pine and Co. is a specialist forestry law firm based in Taupo, and Louise will speak on some of the recent employment law changes you need to be aware of.

Following the seminar event you're invited to join us for dinner and drinks at the Pullman Hotel - please RSVP direct to us via email if you'd like to come along. Please note the costs of dinner / drinks are at your own expense and not included in the ticket price.
